today is India`s Independence Day-15th August....
July 2005.. I landed at JFK with my Husband n daughter with Immigrant visa..
The first few months..everyday I wanted to fly back to India..I missed it very much,
I was longing for my roots.. America was a stranger country in every manner,
for two years I stayed in America n longed for India.
Suddenly one day I got a thought..What am I doing.!!
I belong to a country which gave this world two great epics
RAMAYANA AND MAHABHARATA
LAND OF RAM AND KRISHNA...
KAIKEYEE N SUMITRA WITH KAUSHALYA
YASHODA WITH DEVKI!!
This land gave me oppertunity,comforts,good life..and
I am not being able to love this mother??,who is so big at heart,
welcomming everyone ,whoever comes to her lap..
The third time I landed to JFK n bow down n took
the dust/mitti on my head..
long live TRI RANGA.. long live STARS N BARS!!!!

Your blog presents a new perspective, a very positive one at that. The simile is interesting in the context of 'mother land'. I have seen (and heard) many who do not hesitate to accept the advantages of this country and still go on ranting against this 'alien' culture! Your blog is a fresh breath of air.
